Just like any other major city your have your scams, people are going to try to take advange of the tourist if they can. But this is a very small portion. Also like any other major city don't do stupid things, like walk in unlighted narrow streets, try not to walk along, don't do drugs and don't hang around with the wrong elements of people, and never insult a Thai people or make him lose faces.
