I had the new defendants personally served.?

I had to amend my complaint. I added new defendants, and had them personally served by the sheriff. I filed the approriate doents with the court in regards to that. I have the old defendants reserved an authenticated copy of the summons and complaint of the amended compliant, since there was new claims. Can the old defendants argue improper service.
