Why do i get sad and instantly cry when my boyrifend brings up anything about him drinkin alcohol im clinc.dep?

i suffer from major clinical depression whenever my boyfriend brings up anything about him drinking alcohol it triggers my depression and i cry instantly. he would like to go to parties with me but he doesnt want me to go and cry the whole time and be a wreck nor does he want me to be at home being a wreck n not with him i need this to stop..have any ideas of what this could be about..for some background i used to drink until my depression got very bad i couldnt anymore..because id break down.
