What books from the 1990s through today should I definitely read?

I've read Juric Park, (really good) Lost World (not so much) Harry Potter (really good) Angels & Demons (trash) Da Vinci Code (okay) and Northern Lights (better than the movie at least.) Aside from those, I have not read very many recent bestsellers. Am I missing out? Is there another book or books written within the last twenty years that I should definitely read?
