Is Bush undermining McCain's 5 year plan by setting a time horizon for leaving Iraq.?

no, mccain recommended the surge to bush a long time ago but bush rejected it. then he decided to take mccain s advice and lo and behold conditions in iraq are improving every day. obama was against the surge. but since it has been a success, he is not talking about it and prefers to focus on afghanistan. mccain has always said we will stay in iraq as long as they need us and he has always said we went in light and did not plan for the aftermath. if conditions continue to improve, the majority of troops will be withdrawn before mccain finishes his first term.
